CollectionMini-format frames
One series has the theme of Women and Eros, a second is the faith and passion of Christ in particular, and the third series is on the theme of beliefs and legends. The artist is no longer here to explain how he came to create these series of small-format paintings. One could imagine that they illustrate a book and different chapters of that book.
Were there a lot of ideas jostling around in the artist’s head, images, beliefs, sensations, and in order to bring some order to them, he decided to create these small paintings? I imagine they could have been painted more quickly than a large format. He can thus express the various representations that inspire him about women, what his faith inspired him about the sufferings of Jesus Christ, which are at the same time concomitant with the existence of another world devoid of suffering, and the legends and beliefs that cradled his childhood and left their mark on him. The artist has so much to say and express that he can do it in these small formats that are produced quickly. These are assumptions I make in relation to the existence of these series.
