CollectionWinter
Winter and its white cloak covering nature, buildings and people is a theme present in several paintings. This particular season reveals to us an existence marked by a feeling of peace, calm, whiteness, purity, togetherness, silence where the noises are absorbed by the billions of flakes falling from the sky. A bit like it was the antechamber between the Earth here below and the Hereafter. In our Western culture, snow is often synonymous with fairy-tale worlds populated by peaceful beings where evil and danger are absent.
This fluffy, cottony white environment inspires security, protection, a world where calm and peace reign. When it snows, time slows down, the hectic pace of life stops, the world dozes off and falls into a kind of lethargy. A silence and intimacy settle between us and this nature that adorns itself in white and prevents us from seeing beyond the flakes. We stand there with our childlike gaze facing this phenomenon of nature that always fascinates.
