CollectionSymbolism, Legends
In these paintings, the artist indulges in a free interpretation of the world by associating things, ideas and concepts that each of us is free to understand and interpret in a subjective way. One can detect a thought that is sometimes complex, tortured, disconcerting in its associations but constantly in motion. Psychedelic, surreal, questioning, the artist has put the meaning that corresponded to his state of mind at the time he painted the picture. One can also deduce from it a questioning, a hope, a dissonance, a calling into question, even a passing madness. Everything is possible and open to interpretation. A meaning must also be found in the use of the chosen colors, as each color has a specific history and meaning. The artist sometimes left a written trace of his thoughts, in the form of a sentence, a word or a short text written somewhere on the painting or sometimes behind the painting.
In this section we have also included a few paintings that depict tales and legends. They have always existed and form part of the heritage of humanity and the human psyche, and are passed down from generation to generation. They form a link with our situation as human beings and serve to teach us something about our life and the meaning we can give it. They tell a story and usually contain a moral that teaches us something. Interestingly, we can make the connection between the existence of tales and legends passed down through stories and illustrations in various forms since the dawn of time and the contemporary video games and blockbuster films that fascinate today’s crowds. These contemporary creations always take up eternal themes that speak to our primary instinct as human beings. Good, evil, the good guys, the bad guys, fantasy, love that is difficult to win, the imagination, dreams, other worlds.
It is fascinating to observe that the transmission of these realities continues through the generations that follow one another on this Earth, but through different means.
